In 1996, Hernan Crespo joined Italy, the elite of football at that time. His name was everywhere but the Argentine striker settled with the promising team of Parma Calcio 1913. He joined the young coach Carlo Ancelotti, and players like Gianluigi Buffon, Juan Sebastián Verón, Lilian Thuram, Fabio Cannavaro, and Enrico Chiesa.
His stint represented the peak of Parma. During the 98-99 season, Hernan scored 28 goals in 45 matches, winning the Coppa Italia, the UEFA Cup, and the Italian Super Cup. He was irresistible Hernan and confirmed it the following year by scoring 26 goals, but he still couldn't assert himself in the Champions League. Parma had become too small for this flamboyant striker... and he became the world's most expensive player by joining Lazio. Our Hernan Crespo T-shirt paid tribute to the great Parma of the 90s.
